What do reports include?

There are three types of reports in Ascend, Catalyze, and Elevate. Each can only be accessed by PERTS staff and by Ascend, Catalyze, or Elevate users with specific roles and permissions, as described below.

Class Reports summarize survey results from a single Class. Class Reports are only accessible to the "Class Leads" for that specific class. Typically, the instructor(s) for a given Class are its Class Lead(s). However, in some cases, additional individuals (like an instructional coach) may be added as a Class Lead. Class Leads can be removed or added to a Class by any Class Lead or the Community Lead.

Community Reports pool together results across all the classes in a given Community. For example, a Class might belong to the Community “Math Department” and also to the Community “STEM Courses.” Community Reports only show pooled data (they do not separate out data by individual Class). Community Reports can be accessed by any Community Member. This enables an instructor to compare their own results (from their private, Class Report) to the averages in their Community (from the shared, Community Report).

Please consider, while Community Reports pool together results across Classes in a Community, if a Community includes only one instructor’s Class(es) or if an instructor gathers students’ survey responses the week before others in the Community, only their data would be displayed in the Community Report.

Network Reports are only available with an institutional license. Network Reports present data from multiple Communities side-by-side. For example, a Network Report could be configured to show side-by-side the average results from Classes in the “Math Department” Community and Classes in the “Social Studies Department” Community. Network Reports can only be accessed by Network Leads.
