Creating supportive and equitable conditions for learning isn’t easy: It can take time, practice, and formative feedback. Elevate and Ascend are designed to provide educators with the time and feedback they need to master their craft. When educators use Elevate or Ascend, they engage in multiple cycles of inquiry and action. Each cycle gives educators the opportunity to get students’ feedback, make sense of that feedback, come up with a plan for improvement (like trying a new practice), and implement that plan. Then educators start a new cycle to keep improving. Cycles typically last 2-6 weeks, depending on the preferences of the educators. The main steps in a cycle are shown below.
