Lessons from the LEARN Network, Spring 2022 - Spring 2023

The Learning for Equity Ascend Research Network (LEARN) convened faculty from multiple colleges as they used Ascend to improve the quality and equity of their students’ classroom experiences.

As faculty engaged in these collaborative, student-centered improvement efforts, their experiences were documented in the report Toward Belonging in the Community College Classroom by Dr. Claudia Escobar from the Wheelhouse Center for Community College Leadership & Research at UC Davis. The College Futures Foundation also generously hosted a webinar so that Dr. Escobar could share insights from her research and so that participating faculty could discuss their own experiences and insights. You may watch this webinar below.

The California Acceleration Project (CAP), whose focus is to support California’s 116 community colleges, also hosted a webinar to discuss the findings from the professional development model and learn evidence-based practices. Access the resources and recording for that webinar.
