Can I remove demographic questions from the survey?

PERTS surveys collect demographic information from students so that data can be disaggregated in reports. Disaggregated data can reveal experience gaps that may exist across groups of students and can help educators ensure that all of their students experience critical learning conditions. Though not recommended, Community Leads may remove gender and race/ethnicity demographic questions from the survey.

Note: When demographic questions are disabled, data cannot be disaggregated in reports.

A. How do I disable/enable demographic question(s) for a Class?
  1. Sign in

  2. From the Surveys tab, identify the Class you would like to edit

  3. Click the Gear icon in the Class Card to access advanced settings

  4. To disable a question, toggle the button from ✓ to X

  5. To enable a question, toggle the button from X to ✓

  6. Click Save Changes to 1 Class


B. How do I set a Default to disable/enable demographic question(s) for new Classes in a Community?
  1. Sign in

  2. From the Surveys tab, click Default Settings

  3. Scroll to Advanced Settings

  4. To disable a question, toggle the button from ✓ to X

  5. To enable a question, toggle the button from X to ✓

  6. Click Save Settings for New Classes
